ANTONY HARTLEY

Entrepreneur, sound engineer, songwriter, and software developer.

I’ve spent my life building things across music and technology. I started young — singing and playing trumpet at 7, programming computers at 11, and releasing my first commercial video game at 14.

From the early 1980s through the late 1990s, I worked in the games industry, developing over 26 commercial titles across platforms including ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Sega Master System, and Game Gear. These projects reached millions of players worldwide and formed the foundation of my career in software and product development.

Alongside my technical work, I was active as a musician, singer, and songwriter. In the early 1990s, I became involved in studio work and music production, developing software for Roland samplers and learning the craft of production from the inside.

After moving to Sweden in 1994 to work as CTO of a Stockholm-based games company, I began focusing more heavily on entrepreneurship. Over the following decades, I founded and helped build several technology companies, including ventures in mobile software, development tools, and AI. Some of these companies went on to become widely used platforms, and several remain active today.

Running companies taught me how to bridge the gap between deep technical work and real-world products — turning ideas into tools that people actually use.

In parallel, I’ve operated my own professional recording studio since 1998, producing, mixing, and writing music across a wide range of genres and projects.

Today, I work independently as an entrepreneur, consultant, and producer, focusing on music production, software development, signal processing, and applied mathematics.

I continue to build companies, develop technology, and produce music.

Work

My work spans music production, software development, and technical systems.
I operate a private recording studio in Sweden, where I produce and mix selected projects.
Alongside music, I continue to develop software and work with AI, signal processing, mathematics,
and electronic systems, both independently and through companies I’ve founded or been involved in.
Most of my work takes place within long-standing collaborations.

Selected Credits
